Confidence is Key: Essential Tips for Self-Assurance
Ever wonder what it takes to strengthen self-confidence? Here’s my theory and formula: self-confidence is built from making and keeping little promises to yourself over time. When you consistently show up for yourself, you develop self-assurance and self-worth; both are the foundation for sustainable confidence. You begin to feel solid and reliable from within because well, you ARE! Life throws unexpected curve balls, but when you have the discipline to stay committed to your goals and the things that are important to you no matter what comes your way, you prove to yourself and become an example for others that YOU own your day and are the sole authority in your life.
Intention & Gratitude
When I wake up in the morning before I even get out of bed, I reach for my self-care journal - its usually on my nightstand. What I love about my journal is that it’s formatted in a way that allows me to do two entries a day, one in the morning and one at night. For my morning entries, I write down what mood I’m in, along with three goals for the day, what I’m looking forward to most that day, and one thing I can do to be my best self for the day. It’s a way for me to set my intentions before the day even begins. At night, I’m able to reflect on the day and write out what I did well, what brought me joy, and what I am most grateful for from the day. This way, I start each day with intention and end each day with gratitude.
When I tell you this practice has been such game-changer for me, it really has been! I’m able to hold myself accountable by referring back to my goals and reflecting on my gratitude entries brings me such joy. Its a reminder that I’m building the life I’ve prayed for day by day and that is a delicious recipe for increased self-assurance. I’m also learning that when I have a heart of gratitude, I position myself to receive more good because my energy is open to receiving it.
Take Action
So, when you wake up in the morning, set your intentions. Ask yourself how you want to feel and reflect on what can you do to generate that feeling from within. Then, get out of bed and focus on doing that thing!
This gives you power over your life and with time, will ultimately lead to the increased self-assurance we all want to embody!
